Daptone Records

hi it's jon. i know i don't do as many posts as evan because it's really his blog, but i have a good one. like 3 months ago in June i went to a Feist concert with two openers. One was a band called Pacifika, which wasn't good, and the other was.........SHARON JONES AND THE DAP-KINGS!!!!!! Basically, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings stole the show from Feist. They were amazing. So i went looking. I figured out they were on a record label called Daptone Records. So, i check out some of the other artists on the record label.; Daptone Records is really cool because they make all their records and cds seem like they were made in the 1960's. I realized i saw another band on the label called the Budos Band at the Getty a couple weeks before for one of the Getty's free concert series. The Budos Band was amazing live. Made up of a guitarist, bassist, drummer, bongos, percussion, keyboard, baritone sax, and trumpets. They were amazing. Daptone Records usually produces funk/soul bands that are all amazing.
